My English Cocker Spaniel Wesley (seen at fourteen weeks above, now age twelve months) is showing signs of getting over his dog days, the most vexing part of his youth. These days he is a lot more cooperative than he has been in the last few months, though he is still displaying the independence and stubbornness of his adolescent period. I noticed that when I let go of his leash he no longer runs off into the neighbors' yards, but instead turns tail and heads straight back to the house after doing his business. I'm so proud of him. Guess the baby is finally growing up. Now if only he can learn to calm his nerves around guests so that he doesn't give himself a heart attack.
